Hi, I’m Igor!
I’m a full-time professional photographer with over a decade of experience, and for the past several years, my focus has been almost entirely on bar and bat mitzvah celebrations. My first bat mitzvah was in 2017, and since then I’ve photographed 145 mitzvahs for families across Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire — often working with the same families more than once. Most of my clients are based in communities like Newton, Brookline, Lexington, Natick, Needham, Marblehead, Swampscott, and surrounding areas.
Bar and bat mitzvahs are a very specific kind of event. They combine tradition, family dynamics, fast-moving schedules, and kids who don’t necessarily love being photographed. Knowing how to move comfortably between the synagogue, family portraits, and the celebration — without interrupting the flow or adding stress — comes only from experience.
Outside of photography, I’m much more comfortable talking about music, video games, and internet culture than about stock markets or politics. My son is my best friend, and I genuinely enjoy being around kids and teens. I don’t show up in an all-black uniform — you’ll usually see me in sneakers, bracelets, and a relaxed yet professional style — and that tends to help bar and bat mitzvah kids feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera.
If you’re planning a mitzvah celebration and want photography that feels experienced, calm, and human, I’d love to hear about your day.
